Amman, Sept. 30 (Petra) - Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) President Ayman Alawneh and Spanish Ambassador José Luis Pardo Cuerdo on Wednesday discussed ways to expand trade, investment, and private sector collaboration.

To boost trade and investment, the two sides pledged to revive the Jordanian-Spanish Business Council, created in 1995, as a "hub for corporate partnerships and market data exchange." According to a JBA statement, Alawneh pushed for leveraging the Jordan-EU Investment Conference to attract Spanish investment across energy, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, tourism, and technology sectors. He called for more trade delegations and direct business-to-business meetings.

The ambassador, for his part, stated Spain's commitment to facilitating mutual private sector partnerships and promoting Jordan's investment landscape to Spanish firms. He noted that Amman and Madrid operate open economies with big potential for growth.

The meeting also touched on infrastructure projects, renewable energy, and joint opportunities in regional reconstruction efforts.
